چکیده

Urban environment has undergone many transformations in order to function effectively as society changes. Since the Industrial Revolution, cities have provided extensive industrial areas, high-capacity transport, and a huge quantity of housing and offices. However, the development and expansion of urban areas since 18th century have brought about serious environmental problems as well as efficiency and convenience; energy consumption in urban areas has greatly increased and as a result pollution level have seriously escalated. It has been reported that buildings are one of the major energy consumers in these days accounting for 40% of the total energy consumption in the European Community [1].

A Comparative Analysis of TLCD-Equipped Shear Buildings under Dynamic Loads

This study targets the behavior of shear buildings equipped with tuned liquid column dampers (TLCD) which attenuate dynamic load-induced vibrations. TLCDs are a passive damping system used in tall buildings. This kind of damper has proven to be very efficient, being an excellent alternative to mass dampers. A dynamic analysis of the structure-damper system was made using the software DynaPy, de...

An internet DGPS service for precise outdoor navigation

The goal o f the work presented in this paper is to provide mobile platforms within our compus with a GPS based data service capable of supporting precise outdoor navigation. This can be achieved by providing campus-wide access to real time Differential GPS (DGPS) data. As a result, we designed and implemented a three-tier distributed system that provides Internet data links between remote DGPS...

An ultra low power wake-up signal decoder for wireless nodes activation in Internet of Things technology

This paper proposes a new structure for digital address decoders based on flip-flops with application in wake-up signal generators of wireless networks nodes. Such nodes equipped with this device can be utilized in Internet of Things applications where the nodes are dependent on environment energy harvesting to survive for a long time. Different parts in these wireless nodes should have an e...
